DEPLETED Barnton were unlucky not to return from Styal with a point.
They played the better football on a horrible pitch, but the home keeper wasn't tested until the dying seconds of the first half when he denied Dave Tasker with a double save.
Styal came into the game after the break and Barry Crellin had to make a couple of routine saves, while at the other end the ever improving Adam Norton went close on 55 minutes.
With Barnton looking set for a draw, Styal stole the points when a well struck effort from the edge of the box was deflected past Crellin.
Dickens & Son Star Man: Kurt McCarthy.
