NORTHWICH-based Harlequin Theatre is celebrating awards for two of its productions.

The company won the Adjudicators Award at the Cheshire Theatre Guild 2014/15 awards evening at Altrincham Little Theatre.

The award was given for the theatre group’s First World War play, Remember Them, which was performed in October.

The play was directed by Angie Orme and written by local writers Susan Cowley and Stuart Oakes.

Another play staged by the company, An Ideal Husband, which was performed in June, won the Margaret Thomas Salver award for best costumes, by Anne Lloyd.

Sunday, July 19 saw the Harlequin Junior Players on stage for two performance of Sleeping Beauty, directed by one of the Junior Players Ellie Hamer, assisted by members of the Players.

The shows were a virtual sell-out.

The Harlequin Theatre is a 96-seat subsidised not-for-profit theatre based in Queen Street, Northwich, and presents six productions a year as well as hosting workshops and performances by some of the UK’s up and coming performers.
