A WARM welcome was extended to members at the Lach Dennis WI May meeting by president Joy Hoad. She spoke of the resolution to be discussed at the AGM at the Albert Hall in June, Failing to Care – Assessment of Need in Long-term Care. Members voted unanimously to support the resolution.
The remainder of the evening was devoted to members reminiscing about their memories of the end of the second World War which included stories of street parties and recollections of the joy of renewing acquaintance with tastes which had been denied for so long.
The evening concluded with a generous raffle and Joan Reid shared a cake which she had made to celebrate her birthday.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 8, at Lach Dennis Village Hall at 7.30pm when the guest speaker, Sarah Buckley, will talk about ‘Aroma Therapy’.
