A WINTER wonderland was created for children at a Northwich school when their teacher decided to show them how special they are.
Year Three pupils at Victoria Road Primary School were greeted by reindeer, elves, Christmas trees, snow and a 10ft snow globe in their playground after teacher Laura Flynn nominated them in a Boots UK competition.
Laura, who teaches geography, history and religious education at the school, was inspired by the Boots social media campaign #SpecialBecause.
She encouraged pupils to think about who and what is special to them and was so impressed by their work that she nominated them as being special to her and the school.
She said: "As soon as I saw the Boots UK #SpecialBecause campaign, I started talking to the children about it and asked them to think of the things and people that are special to them.
"They’ve done such a great job at sharing their thoughts with each other, and I’m so pleased that Boots UK selected my Tweet so we could show the children how much they mean to us and give them this amazing school photo and end of year surprise.”
Boots UK created a surprise Christmas photoshoot at the school, with prints and Christmas cards being created at the Witton Street store's Boots Photo service for the pupils to take home after school.
As well as a class photo, the children also took home bespoke Christmas cards picturing each of them individually inside the giant snow globe.
Boots UK is inviting the nation to celebrate all of the special people in their lives this Christmas by sharing online and in store what makes their loved ones #SpecialBecause.
