THE old Natwest building on Hightown in Middlewich which has been empty for 18 months after the bank vacated could finally be set to home a new business in the town.
Manchester House Carpets, which is located on High Street in Winsford, have submitted a planning application to take over the building and expand into Middlewich.
The decision into whether the application to convert the building into a carpet and furniture store is granted will be made by Thursday, December 18.
The carpet company have confirmed they will not be re-housing from Winsford and say they have not yet decided what to do with the building.
John Goodman, of Manchester House Carpets, said: “We will definitely not be moving from Winsford and we haven’t quite decided what to do with the Natwest building yet.”
Natwest vacated the building in June 2013 following a ‘sharp decline’ of customer demand at the branch.
