MIDDLEWICH Branch of Royal British Legion has thanked the community after the most successful Poppy Appeal so far.
The 2013/14 Poppy Appeal ended on September 30 and raised £14,210, which was an increase of 10 per cent on the previous year.
Ken Kingston, vice chairman of Middlewich Branch RBL, said: “It is a huge sum for a town this size and
I would like to thank all the people that made this possible.
“Always looking to improve on previous years, we started the 2014/15 year with a very successful attendance at the Middlewich Great War Weekend.
“Our involvement with forthcoming events makes this next month extremely busy, starting with the Middlewich Beer Festival on October 24 and 25, which supports the RBL Poppy Appeal.”
The Middlewich Branch RBL is also looking for volunteers to help with supermarket collections over two-hour slots.
If you would like to help, contact Ken Kingston on 01606 834448.
