There was an excellent turnout for the August garden party at the home of the Welsh Society treasurer and his wife in Knutsford. It was a warm pleasant evening, just right for socialising outdoors.
A second-hand book sale boosted the society’s funds and a donation was made to the hospice in Macclesfield, which the treasurer’s wife supports.
Wynne Jones, the society’s vice-chairman, presented her with a bouquet and thanked her for being the ideal hostess. Wynne also extended a welcome to Dilys Ebbs, Altrincham.
The AGM will be held at 7.30pm on Monday, September 15, at the Castle Community Church.
