ON The Fringe Festival returns to Winsford next month with some top acts taking to the stage.

The Flashes will come to life for the three day family extravaganza between Friday, July 11 and Sunday July 14.

The best of Winsford’s creative community will join visiting artists including top Beatles and Elvis tribute acts on the unique Island Stage.

“On The fringe is about showing off the talented creative community that lives and works in Winsford, the musicians, the entertainers, the actors, the dancers, the artists and the makers,” explained event manager, Damon Horrill.

“Through them we can feel pride in our town. The amount of talent in Winsford is staggering, we hope their performances inspire more people to get involved.

“The island makes an incredible natural venue. We hope to demonstrate just what a great and unique venue Winsford has at its disposal – what a backdrop; a true beauty spot.”

On The Fringe has grown in popularity over the years, with thousands turning out at Winsford Marina to soak up the feel good family atmosphere in 2013.

This year’s festival opens with the island concert on Friday between 7pm-10pm, followed by a family festival on Saturday between 12noon-8pm and Winsford Music festival on Sunday between 2pm-8pm.

Winsford E-Act academy and Mid Cheshire College will again host the student stage, presenting music, dance and drama performances.

The maker’s market will also return for 2014, showcasing the region’s best in food, drink, arts and crafts.

Elsewhere will feature a licensed bar and food stalls, circus skills workshops, an inflatable village, children’s crafts and entertainers, face painting, canoeing, a duck race, raft race and much more.

Art exhibitions and an independent film festival will complete the entertainment.
