THE Rotary Club of Northwich special speaker meeting on June 2 was very well attended.

Previous meetings have been informative about the development of Northwich and surrounding area. The next special meeting will be on August 4.

It is the 100 year anniversary of the start of the First World War. Phil Andrew, a local retired headmaster, has researched the subject and will make a presentation on how Mid Cheshire was involved including many interesting facts and information that many have never heard of before.

The ‘warm up’ speaker will be Mark Web who is a Rotary Club member.

He has taken over from Tom Davies on the Kenya project that involves matching local schools with Kenyan schools with a common theme of sport, the project includes football.

There is a connection with the old Brunner Mond (ICI) and their Kenyan activities and also in the modern day Roberts Bakery and their recent visits with Mark.

Anyone wishing to attend the luncheon event should confirm via email to northwichrotaryss@ hotmail.com or contact Emma Bantock c/o Consultants Ltd on 01606 48521. Please advise any dietary requirements.
