PARENTS and children at a Sandiway school were treated to a healthy treat when they were visited by a Cheshire dairy.

Delamere Dairy, based on Bexton Lane, Knutsford, spent the afternoon at Sandiway Primary School recently as part of their Delamere Dairy Primary School Roadshow.

The business, which started in Delamere Forest in 1985, handed out samples of its goat and cow milk products in the hope of educating children and parents about the benefits of such products.

One of the aims of the event was to talk to parents specifically about the benefits of goats’ milk.

Delamere Dairy’s Sarah McFall said: “Evidence shows that as many as eight per cent of all babies develop a hypersensitivity to cows’ milk and this often continues into childhood.

“It is however evident that the majority of those with an intolerance are able to flourish on goats’ milk.

“It is easier to digest and its calcium level and vitamin and mineral content compares favourably.

“It provides relief for many children with perpetual runny noses and chesty coughs.”

Leaflets and goodies were also handed out to promote the company’s ‘Go for Goat’ message.
