A NORTHWICH man who has always struggled with the art of facial hair has decided to get creative this Movember with his very own back-tache.

Father-of-two Paul Dean has gone all out to raise as much money as possible during the month-long campaign, which raises awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancers and associated charities, by growing a moustache – on his back.

Hartford resident Paul said: “No one on the male side of my family has ever been able to grow a moustache so this year, it’s Movember, and I thought I’d give it a go.

“I’m not doing too badly with the upper lip but not great, so I decided to do something a little bit different.”

It was Paul’s brother, Dave, who drew the short straw in creating the tash-tastic design, taking just 10 minutes to create the masterpiece.

“I don’t know anyone who has ever done anything like this before and I just want to raise as much as possible for Movember,” added 28-year-old Paul.

Personal trainer Paul, who has done various events for charity in the past, says not everyone is a fan.

“My kids and my wife Hannah both think I’m crazy – she thinks I’m more crazy than the kids.

“I asked Hannah to shave it first but she said no, so it ended up with Dave doing it.

“He kept saying it was done but I said it had to be perfect as it was going on Facebook.”

Proud mum Olwyn said: “He has always had a wacky sense of humour and loves to do something different.

“Above all he cares about people and loves helping however he can.

“It would be easy to be embarrassed because he is on the hairy side but, instead of that, he revels in it.

“Since he started doing fitness training he has referred to himself as a Silverback.

“I guess that shows his sense of humour and I just hope he manages to get lots of sponsors and raises lots of cash for charity.”
