A NORTHWICH building society has helped to raise vital funds to buy a pair of prosthetic blades for a schoolboy who had both legs amputated when he was a baby.
Cieran Kelso, eight, contracted meningococcal meningitis in June 2006 and lost both legs below the knee and most of his fingers.
Staff at Skipton Building Society, on Leicester Street, took part in a number of fundraising activities last week in the hope of raising as much as possible to help buy young Cieran prosthetic blades.
A cake sale, face painting and nail painting helped to raise just over £120 for Cieran but more fundraising is needed if the Kelso family are to meet their minimum fundraising of £15,000 per year to enable Cieran to ‘walk tall’.
