AFTER weeks of anticipation, the new Middlewich Skate Park will finally open to the public on August 30.
Fiona Bruce MP and Middlewich Town Mayor, Bernice Walmsley, will be joining families and residents for the official opening of the Booth Lane Park from 2pm on Friday.
To mark the occasion, Middlewich Vision, who secured grants for the park refurb, have organised a skate-off competition for children from the surrounding area.
From 1.30pm, the park will be open to children who wish to practise their skating skills and participants can sign up for the competition at that time.
The competition will take place shortly after the ribbon is cut.
Prizes will be presented the following day, August 31, at the Bullring in the town centre.
