THE streets of Northwich have been transported back in time as a town crier told the town about the new look Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich Guardian.
Julie Mitchell, who normally spends her days making proclamations in Chester, took to Witton Street and Leicester Street today, Wednesday, to shout about the exciting new changes taking place at your number one local newspaper.
Members of the Guardian's newspaper sales team were also out in force to explain the changes to shoppers.
This week has seen the launch of a bigger and better newspaper.
From now on, there will be a lot more local news, sport and features with an increased size of around 96 pages every week.
We will feature some new regular platforms including an extension of the letters page with more comment and opinion, and a new columnist – the Fly in the Ointment.
There will be a lot more local district news – covering the towns and villages of Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich – and there will also be a bigger business and nostalgia section with increased local sports coverage.
Each week your Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich Guardian also includes a fabulous new ‘Weekend’ leisure and entertainments section, offering a wide range of features and activities, including food and drink, fashion, gardening and local walks.
A comprehensive ‘What’s On’ section will cover film, music and theatre.
