TWO police officers have been treated in hospital following a collision in Nantwich early this morning, Wednesday, November 7.
While responding to a 999 call following an attempted burglary at a supermarket in Nantwich at around 4am, the marked police car in which the officers were responding left the road and collided with a tree on Beam Street.
Both officers, a man and a woman based at Nantwich police station, were treated for head injuries at Leighton Hospital and have since been discharged. The road was closed at Beam Street until 8am.
Investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. Nobody else was involved in the incident.
