IT has been 11 years since Altrincham Garrick Playhouse put on John Chapman and Jeremy Lloyd’s comedy Business Affairs, but it has lost none of its appeal.
The plot centres on Stanley and Norman who are completing a deal to sell their failing haulage business to European buyers Sven and Kurt.
At their request, ladies of the night, Sabrina and Valerie, have been booked to entertain them — then, the businessmen’s wives arrive.
The Garrick’s talented thespians will strut their stuff in a way that will tickle a lot of fancies.
For this is pure farce, director, John Chidgey said: “Farce is a challenge for any director because timing is the essence.
“Nothing has proved too difficult for the cast. They take everything in their stride, but I had a little problem when casting got the blonde and the brunette escort parts
mixed up.”
John is very pleased with his cast. He said: “Rehearsals have been great and with less than two weeks to go, the play is exactly where it should be.”
He anticipates packed houses for this popular farce.
“Our audiences love a good comedy and this is one they will enjoy,” he said.
* Business Affairs is at Altrincham Garrick Playhouse from April 8 to 13.
