NIGHTMARE, by Norman Robbins, the Garrick Playhouse’s next production, turns into just that following a series of unexpected events.

Marion Bishop, an elderly writer, is dying.

Until her cousin’s wedding in Scotland, Katherine Willis, a kindly neighbour, looks after her despite coping with a mentally retarded brother.

While Katherine is away, Laura, a nurse from London, steps in on the advice of the local doctor.

Here is where events turn for the worse. Mysterious phone calls and the unexpected appearance of Raymond, Marion’s nephew, makes things complicated, especially when Katherine’s brother is found murdered in a ditch.

Deceit, suspicion, blackmail and incrimination are woven into a web of crime which is completed by a confrontation scene just before an ingenious twist brings a surprising close.
