Michelle Keegan, Rio Ferdinand and Paralympic champion Jonnie Peacock have signed up to take part in the return of cult gameshow The Crystal Maze.
Stephen Merchant, famous for TV hits including The Office and Life’s Too Short, has previously been announced as host of the one-off revival episode, which airs next month.
Our Girl actress Michelle, footballer-turned-sports presenter Rio, double Paralympic champion Jonnie, broadcaster Sara Cox and comedian Josh Widdicombe will be taking part in the charity special.
The celebrity edition sees the return of the gameshow after a 21-year absence from the small screen, as part of Channel 4′s Stand Up To Cancer fundraising campaign.
The Crystal Maze was cult viewing from 1990 to 1995, attracting up to six million viewers at the height of its success.
The programme, with teams of contestants navigating four different challenge zones on their way to the final in the Crystal Dome, was originally presented by Richard O’Brien followed by Ed Tudor-Pole.
The charity special, sponsored by BT, is part of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign, which launched in 2012 and will also include a celebrity series of The Island With Bear Grylls.
