Lisa Riley showed off her trim figure on Loose Women and viewers watching could not believe how good she looks.
The ex-Emmerdale actress, who played Mandy Dingle, has lost eight stone and dropped from a size 30 to a size 16 following 10 months of hard work.
The 39-year-old looks so different now that Loose Women panellist Ruth Langsford accidentally walked past her.
Lisa told the ITV show that she hadn’t undergone a gastric bypass operation or jumped on any fad diets. She said weight loss diets that were in vogue had not worked for her.
“I would like to stress that I don’t believe in fad diets or anything like that. I don’t believe in diets where you’re allowed to cheat. If you’re going to do something, do it properly.”
She added: “I lost the weight the sensible way.”
The Bury-born star has changed her lifestyle, with more exercise and a focus on her health. Lisa has stopped snacking and she has also cut down on her food portions and cut out alcohol altogether.
“To be honest, it’s still hard to see my reflection because I look so different,” she said. “It’s insane when I look back at old photos. I am so proud of what I’ve achieved – but I needed to do it. I am so happy now.”
At her heaviest, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant had been viewed as a poster girl and role model for plus-size women. When asked about this by the panel she said she would always be curvy.
“I hope I still am a poster girl. I’m never going to be Kate Moss.”
Stunned viewers who saw the show posted their thoughts on Twitter.
