Another day, another glamorous red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard attended a screening of the film adaptation of the Shakespeare classic, MacBeth.
Michael, who plays the lead, was as handsome as ever in a tuxedo, while his co-star and Oscar winner Marion wowed in a bejewelled dress.
He said that the director Justin Kurzal helped him see that Shakespeare’s tragic character was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder after months of battle, which leads him to murder his king after the war is over.
“The ‘in’ for the character for me, and it was a big revelation to me, and I’d never thought of it which is crazy, but Justin was like ‘this is a man who’s suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, he’s killing people with his bare hands year in year out’”, he said.
“So from the beginning I knew I was dealing with someone that was unhinged.”
