THRILLSEEKERS are being invited to recreate the atmosphere of classic horror film Dawn of the Dead by taking part in a zombie experience at Chester's Grosvenor Shopping Centre.

Zombie Nightmare, an hour-long post-apocalyptic zombie experience, is coming to the city centre shopping this March.

Trapped in a shopping centre after hours, brave teams of survivors are required to explore the Grosvenor Shopping Centre and try to end the zombie apocalypse once and for all.

With military forces now completely defeated and civilisation left in ruins, they’ll need to find out what went wrong.

Organisers say the event includes escape room style clues, 'immersive moments of deep suspense, theatrical interactions and ultimately – running for your life!'

The award-winning event has been crowned as the UK’s best zombie experience at the ScareCon awards, held annually at Alton Towers Resort.

Events director Ash Gamon from Wicked Experiences, which produces the event, is keen to bring the experience to Chester.

He said: “We tour our experience all over the UK and it always gets a great response from our zombie loving guests.

"This year we have made the event even bigger with more zombies, more scares and a brand-new mission.

"We think that this experience at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre is going to be truly terrifying for everyone!”

Julie Webb, Grosvenor Shopping Centre's general manager, said: "We are ‘scarily’ excited here at Grosvenor Shopping Centre Chester, to welcome such a frightening and fun experience for all those taking part, also to raise much-needed funding for our charity [Hospice of the Good Shepherd], with 15 per cent of ticket sales donated to them."

The events take place throughout the evening on Friday and Saturday, March 20-21.

The first 50 tickets sold will be at the early bird price of £35 per person plus booking fee (usual price £45) and are on sale from 9am on February 14. to book, visit www.zombienightmare.co.uk.
