A FORMER Radio 1 DJ has opened a nightclub in Warrington.

Charlie Sloth has launched the VIP style club Illuminati Nights in St Austin’s Lane in a space shared with Bruno’s Rodizio.

The 38-year-old presented The Rap Show on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra and among his highlights was getting Drake, one the world’s biggest rappers, into the studio for his signature freestyle segment of his programme.

The award-winning DJ has also collaborated with the likes of Professor Green, Bugzy Malone, Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32.

Charlie left Radio 1 and 1Xtra in 2018 after almost 10 years.

Since then he has been working with Apple Music and Beats 1 where he does the rap show and curates playlists.

He took with him his popular Fire In The Booth freestyle segment, which has racked up hundreds of millions of views on YouTube.

Illuminati Nights launched with a New Year’s Eve party featuring Charlie Sloth himself and rapper Yungen but the line-up and details of the next club night are yet to be confirmed.
