THE Book of Mormon has extended its run of Manchester dates due to huge demand.

Broadway’s hit comedy musical – written by South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Frozen composer Robert Lopez – launches at the Palace Theatre on June 6 as part of its first UK tour.

Tickets have been flying out for the Tony, Olivier and Grammy award-winning production and so the end of the Manchester run has been extended from July 27 to August 10.

The Book of Mormon follows a pair of Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s a long way from their home in Salt Lake City.

The Manchester cast will be led by Kevin Clay as Elder Price and Conner Peirson as Elder Cunningham, recreating their roles from the Broadway and US touring productions.

They will be joined by Nicole-Lily Baisden as Nabulungi, William Hawksworth as Elder McKinley, Ewen Cummins as Mafala Hatimbi, Johnathan Tweedie as Joseph Smith and Thomas Vernal as the General.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the creators of the Emmy award-winning animated show South Park, now in its 22nd season, and Team America: World Police.

Robert Lopez co-created the Broadway musical Avenue Q and co-wrote the songs for Disney’s Frozen and Coco.

He is one of only 15 artists to win all four major entertainment awards – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards.

The London production opened in 2013, winning four Olivier Awards and breaking the record for the highest single day of sales in West End history. For tickets visit atgtickets.com/venues/palace-theatre-manchester
