WARRINGTON'S new dedicated live music venue is to host its first major showcase since opening.

On Saturday Bristol punk band Idles will be performing a DJ set at Live Bar in Barbauld Street.

Idles' debut album, Brutalism, was released in 2017 to critical acclaim. It was quickly followed up by Joy as an Act of Resistance in 2018.

They will be joined by garage rockers The Lotts and noise rock trio SlowHandClap.

Greg Dixon, from Live, said: "It's a pleasure to bring one of my favorite bands to the town.

"This will be the night that puts us on the map as a premium live music venture in the north west and UK at large.

"We have a great sound system, an awesome space and a really cool team behind it, and we're really looking forward to sharing it with the people of the town and beyond.

"Artists, spectators and promoters have all been crying out for a place like this in the town, and here it is, in the biggest possible way."

Tickets are £12 and are available here. Doors open at 8pm.
