Stand-up comic Bobby Murdock continues his comedy column for Warrington Guardian. This month, the Padgate resident talks about launching his own regular comedy night at PJ’s in Bridge Street through his company Who Dares Grins. Among the line-up is Tez Ilyas as seen on Live at the Apollo and Mock The Week

HELLO everyone and welcome to my comedy corner.

I’ve been working professionally as a comedian for more than seven years now and during that time I have travelled up and down the country making people laugh.

It seems like only two minutes ago that I did my first feature with the Warrington Guardian on starting out on that journey.

And I’ve done some amazing things in what is still really only a short period of time on the circuit including two sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Next month will mark another milestone for my booking and events service, Who Dares Grins, as I am very excited to announce that we will be bringing some of the best stand-up comedians from around the country to Warrington on a regular basis.

We’ve set up a comedy night at PJ’s in Bridge Street and the first gig is on Friday, October 12.

Over the coming months there are loads of future performances planned and the venue itself is fantastic.

It has very plush seating and private bar areas so this makes it perfect for a professional comedy performances.

Northwich Guardian:

Bobby Murdock

I think this is the perfect time for us to have regular stand-up in the town centre because as many of you know Warrington is changing with the £107 million Time Square leisure development well on its way.

So for our first performance we will have Tez Ilyas headlining the show who is enjoying a meteoric rise in the stand-up world.

He has just performed for Live at the Apollo on the BBC which is massive and he recently performed on Comedy Central, has been a panellist on the hit TV show Mock the Week and has been a guest on Channel 4’s The Last Leg.

I’ll be hosting the night so please come down if you can and here is a little introduction to our first three performers:

Keith Carter (As Stacey Silcox)

Keith Carter is an award-winning Liverpool based comedian, writer, actor and well known character comic unleashing his latest creation Stacey Silcox.

Not just a stand-up with a dressing up box, Keith makes his characters live by his bearing, his gestures and his voice.

Davey Ash

Davey is the epitome of Scouse humour.

Winner of The Liverpool Comedian Of The Year award in 2012.

Tez Ilyas

As seen on Mock The Week, The Last Leg and Comedy Central, in the past two years Tez has had two sell-out nationwide tours, and three critically acclaimed and sell out Edinburgh Fringe shows.

He continues to take the comedy world by storm.

Doors open at PJ’s in Bridge Street at 7.15pm on Friday, October 12. The show starts from 8.15pm.

Tickets are £10 and can be bought from whodaresgrins.com. For more information visit 413661
