MID Cheshire Musical Theatre Company has been busy celebrating after picking up a national award.

The cast and production team of 'Anything Goes', which was performed in 2015, clinched the coveted NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) award for the 'Best ensemble'.

The awards ceremony and dinner was held at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester and the award was received on behalf of the society by the director and choreographer, Jo Chatt.

The musical director was the talented Peter England.

Liz Cooley, from the group, said: "'Best Ensemble' is a new award, so they were particularly pleased to have been the first group to win it.

"The Mid Cheshire Youth Theatre, the junior branch of the society, also received two nominations, but sadly failed to win awards. However, nominations are a great accolade in themselves and competition is very fierce.

"The recent production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' directed by Peter England was also very well received and reviewed and the team have every confidence that they will be nominated for a NODA award (or awards) next year as well."

Chairman Mike Finnigan congratulated all those involved in 'Anything Goes'.

"Together with NODA Youth nominations,we are producing and performing shows of a very high quality for our audiences, and having fun at the same time," he said.

"A great achievement and as chairman of MCMTC I feel very proud to have been part of it."
