NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC -ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -Macclesfield Road, Holmes Chapel
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic as follows, install new sewer connections.
Prohibition of traffic - Macclesfield Road. Holmes
Chapel - From the junction with Manor Lane to the
- From the junction with Manor Lane to the
junction with Hermitage Drive
The alternative route will be via Macclesfield Road,
will be via Macclesfield Road,
London Road, Station Road, Manor Lane and vice versa
which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Sunday 25 July 2021
and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less
time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed
in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works
will be completed by Sunday 22 August 2021.

1. The effect of the proposed Order which will come into operation on 18th June 2021, will be to:;
a. introduce a 40 mph speed limit on the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this notice:-
SCHEDULE 1 (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) A556 Chester Road. Tabley Superior (Northbound) -
From its junction with Tabey interchange Roundabout for a
distance of 141 metres in a southerly direction.
A556 Chester Road. Tabley Superior (Southbound) -
From its junction with Tabey interchange Roundabout for a
distance of 141 metres in a southerly direction.
Pickmere Lane. Tabley Superior (Both directions) -
From its junction with the A556 Chester Road for a distance
of 30 metres in a westerly direction.
Tabley Hill Lane. Tabley Superior (Both directions) -
From its junction with the A556 Chester Road for a distance
of 15 metres in an easterly direction.
b. introduce a 60 mph speed limit on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice:-

SCHEDULE 2 (60 MPH SPEED LIMIT) A556 Chester Road. Tabley Superior (Northbound) -
From a point 58 metres south of its junction with Tabley Hill Lane to a point 150 metres in a southerly direction. A556 Chester Road. Tabley Superior (Southbound) -From a point 58 metres south of its junction with Tabley Hill Lane to a point 150 metres in a southerly direction.
