With the prospect of hundreds of houses being constructed in Hartford, the mind boggles as to where this new population is going to work.
I would have thought that the first criteria would have been to secure employment positions for these newcomers and the existing Northwich people who are unemployed.
Northwich has suffered from very little investment since the decline of ICI and J Parkes. It is suggested that the superstores do not play the game when they employ people.
Where would the majority of construction workers come from and who would buy the houses?
Is this way of accumulating Council Tax for the basic expenditure of putting up a few street lamps and taking away the rubbish?
Would it not be an opportunity to charge for car parking with this new influx of vehicles?
Under the new benefits scheme it is proposed to send people from the crowded South East to places where there is spare capacity, such as leafy Cheshire.
With an influx of people there is not going to be enough employment opportunities for our 16 to 25-year-olds without adding to the problem.
