Being queen was so memorable

1:10pm Tuesday 17th August 2010

I WOULD like to thank everyone who made my day as Comberbach Rose Queen so memorable and special.

A special thank you goes to Samantha Jane, the Rose Princess and to the committee who worked so hard to make the event a success.

Thanks also must go to everyone who provided stalls and prizes for raffles; those who entertained after the crowning ceremony; Margery Hall, chairman of the CFWI and the women of the Comberbach WI celebrating their 60th anniversary, the children and adults in their colourful costumes in the procession and members of the retinue who all looked lovely.

I am grateful to the vicar, the Rev Alex Brown, who dashed down between weddings to wish me well and for his kind words in church the next day.

Mr Kirkpatrick provided the sound system and the music and I would like to thank him for playing Vivaldi for me as well as Highland Cathedral for my grandma. The Weaver Valley WI Choir also provided lovely music A very special thank you goes to Stephen Miller, a gifted amateur photographer who took photographs before and during the event to a very professional standard.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported us all, and to those who supported me and ran on the fun run for St Luke’s before the fete. Thank you all for your donations to St Luke’s, my chosen charity.

A very special thank you to Mr and Mrs Cowell who let Samantha and me ride in their beautiful vintage car.

I hope I have thought of everyone and I hope you all enjoyed the day as much as I did. Finally thank you to my parents and my grandma who give me their love and support in everything I do.
