THE latest revelation in the Guardian, January 27, that the CWAC Council will impose a five per cent levy on any development in or near Northwich town centre is the latest obstacle to regeneration.
This levy, in addition to the economic recession, and the fact that eight of the proposed sites on the original Northwich Vision are described as ‘at high risk of flooding’ in the Executive Summary of CWAC’s Northwich Area Flood Risk Assessment, virtually guarantee a lack of interest by developers.
