YOUR recent article entitled, A strong voice for the town (February 3), implies that there is no single voice for Northwich, with the public unable to feed back to Cheshire West and Chester Council.
We would like to address these assertions.
What the article does not point out is that Northwich has no fewer than six councillors representing the town on CWAC.
Each of us holds regular surgeries in Northwich town library on the first and third Saturday of the month, 10am to noon.
We also stage regular community forum groups – the last for Northwich West, which covers Castle, Leftwich and Winnington, was held at Winnington Recreation Ground and was very well attended.
The Boundary Review Committee is currently reviewing current ward boundaries and when its final recommendations have been received, CWAC will then review the current Community Forum Arrangements to align with the proposed ward boundaries.
We would like town residents to tell us what they think.
Finally, we would also point out that all six councillors for the town are available for individual contact on any council-related matter.
Our contact details are available through the council website.
CLRS KATE BIRTWISTLE, TERRY BIRTWISTLE, SIMON MACDONALD, GEORGE MILLER, MARK STOCKS and HELEN WELTMAN
