Country is going from bad to verse

THE country’s going crazy, the pyramid’s upside down, the crown is on the base, the base is on the crown.

No one does just a job these days, everyone’s deemed accountable, nurses don’t nurse, doctors don’t doctor and police have problems insurmountable.

We play the game of ‘spot the clipboard’, while to a target clawing our way, but corners are cut and things left undone, to be completed another day.

No time, no time, the clipboard cries, the target we must meet, what is the target I forget? Oh yes, the risk assessment sheet.

Whatever happened to the job well done? To initiative and satisfaction? Beneath mounds of clipboards and legal reaction. To invest in local brown field sites, can we encourage some industrial guru? ’Cos you’ve built your lots of houses, now give us something to do.
