In defence of Billy Nomates

TO R Preston (Letters, November 5), my friends and I have agreed to lend you a sense of humour.

It goes without saying that Mr Nomates was certainly not serious and it is in our opinion a critical view of the way that the councils around the country behave towards the public.

Our friend’s bin was classed as contaminated purely on the grounds that it had a cigarette butt and a one inch piece of paper in with his leaves that had been brushed up.

The way our society is going it appears that we are verging on the ridiculous. Mr Nomates is mirroring the idiocracy and incompetence that exists in the public sector.
