WHILE I applaud Paul Hurley for his views on HS2, I feel I must take issue with him in relation to Antoinette Sandbach MP and Brexit.

I checked back to the referendum voting returns to confirm that we did not vote by constituency, but by local council area.

Antoinette Sandbach’s Eddisbury Constituency forms only part of Cheshire West and Chester Council area.

The actual figures for Cheshire West and Chester Council were Leave 98,082 (50.7 per cent) Remain 95,455 (49.3 per cent) 66,244 did not vote.

An MP is elected to ensure that he or she represents all their constituents, so to say that Antoinette should only represent the views of a majority, ignores her responsibility for the minority.

I have the feeling that if Paul was in the minority he would be very aggrieved if his MP ignored his views.
