IT was very interesting to read the letter published last week by Cllr Gaskill with regards to speeding traffic.

This follows on from the one submitted a few weeks ago by Cllr Burns on the same subject.

The reason for my letter is to highlight the fact that I raised the same subject in March with Cllr Burns and Cllr Kennedy on the same subject but covering, Weaver Street and Dingle Lane.

To date we have a lot of promises but no action.

It would seem the efforts of a borough councillor and a past town mayor do not carry any weight when it comes to the highways department which seems to do what it wants, and shows no respect to people’s concerns.

We only asked for signs to highlight the 20mph limit. We have none.

It seems to me that we have a twotier system on highway safety and Cheshire West adopts a ‘not needed, don’t care’ attitude.

As residents we are only looking for safe streets. Don’t forget – we live here.
