EWEN Simpson has made two points on which we both agree.

Firstly that HS2 is a total waste of time and money. I hesitate to say this Ewen but this is an assumption on both our parts.

Secondly that Ewen sees himself as acting like a schoolboy being told off by the headmaster. Probably a well justified view.

Sadly the content of his ongoing letters do not show any improvement.

The words tend to squirm like a politician giving answers to points which were never made in order to avoid answering a direct question.

In that subject he is top of the class.

For example I invited him to tell me where I was wrong about my assumptions.

His effective answer: ‘Don is not wrong merely mistaken’.

Can anyone explain what that means?

I always thought ‘not wrong’ meant ‘right’ and ‘mistaken meant wrong’.

I’m afraid Ewen that unless you improve the quality of your composition work you may be sent to detention.
