REGARDING your story about penalty points. To me the answer is simple.

If you accrue more than 12 points you lose your licence. No ifs, no buts, no maybes.

It seems to me that if your income to support your family is dependant on you driving, then that should be uppermost in your mind and you should drive within the law, thus avoiding penalty points.

I know that occasionally the odd speed camera will catch us driving above the speed limit; but, once caught, we should be more watchful in the future.

Magistrates should not have the power to be lenient and should impose a minimum 12-months ban if a driver accrues more than 12 penalty points. As I said before, if your living depends on you continuing to drive, then do not break the law.
