USERS of the No 82 Northwich- Chester bus continue to suffer.

I went on Tuesday, July 25 to catch the 10.36 bus to Northwich for a medical appointment, which had been arranged to fit in with this timing.

After waiting 15 minutes, I happened to glance at the timetable displayed at the stop and found that it had been changed the previous day, and I had missed the bus.

I had to get a taxi.

It seems extraordinary that Arriva should think that changing the timetable without warning is acceptable.

Those of us condemned to use buses must be able to plan ahead so that we can get to appointments and catch trains etc.

There was no warning of this change in the Sandiway and Cuddington news sheet in the July or August editions.

It would be easy for Arriva to: A) post notices on the timetables displayed at bus stops giving warning, say a month in advance, that there will be a change, and advising people to look on Arriva’s website for details, which, again should be available in advance B) notify the parish councils etc affected by the impending change so that they can make it known locally.

I should have thought that this is on page one of the Ladybird Book of Customer Relations.

I urge Cheshire West and Chester Council (who, after all, are paying them with our money) to use their influence to make Arriva behave more reasonably towards its suffering clients.

We have had a lot of changes in timetable on this service – all unannounced.
