I VISIT Northwich probably twice a week and mostly park in the new Asda car park as I generally need Asda or M&S.

As I was approaching the escalator a young man informed me that I wasn’t allowed there with my dog.

‘Why not?’ I asked, thinking she wasn’t allowed on the escalator, ‘she’s been in here loads of times’ (along with other dogs I’ve seen) I replied.

The young man showed me the NO DOGS sign which was about 8cm square and obscured behind the open door.

He was very sorry and didn’t know what to suggest so I said I’d use the stairs, only to find a NO DOGS sign on the door that leads to them.

I refuse to walk down the ramp coming into the car park as there’s no footpath, so how do I get out with my dog?

I can’t always park on a different car park due to time restrictions (we come to Northwich for lunch sometimes) and fullness of other car parks.

I would like people to be aware of this situation and don’t think it’s unreasonable to allow dogs in these areas, especially the stairs. I can’t see any reason for it.
