GRAHAM Evans MP claims that HS2 is the right thing for the north west and his constituents in Weaver Vale, yet he offers no irrefutable evidence to back up that claim.

He claims that HS2 will enhance connectivity within the north west rail network without saying how.

Within only two possible connections to the existing network in the north west and communities such as Wilmslow and Hartford losing many of their existing direct connections to London and other major cities, you have to wonder on what evidence Graham Evans bases his claim.

He states that increasing capacity will potentially remove 10m vehicles from UK roads.

Again there is no evidence to support this claim.

He highlights regional connectivity difficulties, and quotes the route from Northwich to Widnes, Runcorn and Liverpool. He seems to have forgotten Hartford and its connections to the towns in question. HS2 will not help these local problems in any way.
