I’M NOT sure if I am the first, but I certainly don’t think I will be the last motorist to have a minor road accident on the new Chesterway roundabout.
Despite excellent lane markings, vehicles entering the roundabout from Leicester Street in the middle lane incorrectly think they can take the Chesterway exit. I fell foul of a motorist that moved left to take that exit and we collided just after the New Warrington Road exit.
Thankfully no one was hurt and I do sympathise with the driver. The entrance to Chesterway is very wide and gives motorists the false impression that it is accessible from the middle lane.
The council should monitor the number of cars doing this.
