I WAS in the garden with my dog on Saturday night and a burning Chinese lantern came down on the garden.

While I know some people release these potential incendiary devices in memory of people etc, perhaps they should remember that what goes up has to come down and at least not release these in a built up area – the potential fire risk of these items is not thought about. If this had come down on the Gazebo or shed it would have possibly caused combustion or even injured my pet.

While on the subject of pets, let us not forget that Bonfire Night is just around the corner, whilst I have written before and do not wish to be a kill-joy.

Remember, remember the fifth of November and remember (your) pets, try to ensure your pet is kept indoors and put on a radio or TV to counter the background noise and if you are not attending an event, try to be with your cat or dog.
