I am writing to appeal to your readers for volunteers to help raise funds for the British Red Cross at fundraising collections in the Northwich area.

We have been kindly allocated a collection at Tesco Northwich on Saturday, October 22. We are looking for local people to give just two hours of their time to join our fundraisers to raise vital funds for the Red Cross and their Family Reunion Appeal.

Just two hours of your time can help reunite family and loved ones who have been torn apart by conflict, war or disaster.

It costs £300 to reunite a child with a parent and around £1200 to reunite an entire family. A total of 718 people have found their missing family with the help of the British Red Cross in the last three years alone.

With your support, we can help to reunite even more loved ones and ensure they are not denied the basic right to be with their families.

The Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.

They respond to emergencies all over the world and offers aid and support to communities affected by natural disasters.

Here in the UK the Red Cross provide a variety of health and social care services including care in the home and medical equipment loans. They respond to emergencies, providing practical and emotional support and also provide first aid training.

Please call me on 07718 244 547 or you can email kthreadgill@ redcross.org.uk if you can help in any way.
