CYCLING through Cheshire with 10 pals, on our Sunday club run (eldest member age-72), I couldn’t help notice ‘Vote Leave’ signs.

Now that residents of the ‘Golden Triangle’ have ‘won’, might I ask we – poor cyclists, some on pension credits – get a better deal?

Having voted Remain, my pals and I prefer cycling in the likes of Holland, France and Spain, particularly Majorca – now I can’t afford to – where cyclists are treated like human beings, i.e we’re passed wide and slow, not unlike horses!

One of our biggest bugbears here are drivers in 4x4s, who demand more than their fair share of road – especially those addicted to mobile phones.

Cyclists have even been killed by drivers fiddling with satnavs! Is that why they break speed limits?

Or maybe text: “Sorry luv, runnin late, caught in traffic, cyclist killed by HGV driver watchin video.” If those who break into rich folks ‘castles’ are ‘low life’, what are wealthy speed merchants who break speed limits and kill working class kids and cyclists? Get me a loophole lawyer.

Theresa May has pledged to “fight against the burning injustices” of poverty, race, class and health and give people back “control”: she will not “entrench the advantages of the privileged few”.

Surely this should mean an instant ban for simply driving with a mobile phone in your hand?
