WHEN I was younger the park on Leftwich Estate was fantastic.
We had a pool, a sandpit and loads of things to play on. My sister and I would spend hours and hours up there.
Over time they “redeveloped” the park – by making the pool smaller and adding new frames. Then they got shot of the pool altogether and sadly, over the years, the park has gone downhill.
I moved to Rudheath and had a family.
The parks, and there are a few, are good and my daughter loved going to them. Fast forward a couple of years and we have now moved back to the Leftwich side of town and the only park is on the estate and even my four-year-old thinks it’s boring!
The toilets are gone and there is very little there for her to play on and what is there is in disrepair.
It’s in major need of some development and if we could have the pool back that would be amazing.
Given the temperature increase over the past few years we are all forced to cram in to the town centre park, which gets very overcrowed and dangerous and causes a ton of congestion.
This week the pool has been packed out, pedestrians have been forced to walk on the road with prams, young children and wheelchairs – there being no way to get past them on the pavement.
Could the pool not be put back in Leftwich which would help ease the congestion to the town pool?
