I AM writing about the state of the alleyway at the rear of Beeston Street and David Street.
Not only is this severely overgrown, but also a landmine of dumped articles and dogs’ mess.
People have dumped whatever they like and it makes residents wary of going into the alleyway.
It also seems to escape the eye of the council, as people from the council have been up and down the alleyway but still, in the year I have been here, nothing has been done.
The residents of Beeston Street and David Street need to be accountable for the mess and stop using it as a dump.
The council should take a leaf out of Blackpool Council’s book, where they have gated the alleyways (as well as asphalting them) and residents have keys to open and close the gate.
This has resulted in a massive drop in anti-social behaviour and in the amount of rubbish dumped.
The council cannot ignore this problem, as next we will have rats in the alleys, due to the severe environmental health issue that this is causing. I hope this letter may open the council’s eyes and kick them into action to resolve this issue asap.
