YOUR correspondent “Ignore the Will of the People” (July 13) clearly sees no value in living in a democratic country where the majority can choose who govern us.

Why is he so keen to sing the praises of the EU, which has caused untold misery in Greece? There are children scavenging for food on rubbish heaps, (and whose government is in line for another £8bn bail-out this month).

The EU has caused 50 per cent youth unemployment in Spain, and has now placed all the Italian banks on the verge of bankruptcy.

Meanwhile this is the organisation which has opened the floodgates to millions of people, causing the deaths of thousands drowning in the Mediterranean.

The EU spends millions on vanity projects such as lavish offices around the world, the crazy four days per month moving between Brussels and Strasburg “just to keep the French happy”.

They overrule our courts and impose human rights legislation on us which protects foreign criminals and whose defence we have to pay for (yet more millions!) No wonder Angela Merkel wanted us to stay, because she is the one who will have to pay the bills now.

And there will be even more bills to pay when they admit Montenegro, Albania and Turkey.

So, does your correspondent want the NHS to be so overwhelmed with demands, that he cannot get an appointment within reasonable time?

Does he want to keep his adult children and their children under his own roof, because there are insufficient houses to accommodate all those who are coming to live here?

His complaints already ring hollow with the country now free to make its own rules and regulations and with trade deals rapidly developing abroad, thanks to the 17-year campaign by Nigel Farage.

Boris Johnson is back alongside the PM, as a leading member of our government, in his new role as Foreign Secretary.

The French farmers want a free trade deal to protect their food exports to the UK. The German car manufacturers want the same for their industry to protect the export of 800,000 cars per annum into the UK.

Oh, and by the way, the pound is doing great favours for our exports and the Stock Market is nearly as high as it was a year ago.

And the fishermen of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland are looking forward to getting their fishing grounds back.

Why would you want to be under the yoke of the EU?
