PLEASE convey our sincere thanks to the Vauxhall Cavalier driver who stopped and changed our wheel last Friday.

As pensioners, our flat tyre left us stranded on the busy A533 at Davenham, and his selfless action on such a busy road was greatly appreciated.

His kindness and concern for us and our situation left us so overwhelmed that we forgot to ask his name.

How wonderful to know that, no matter how diverse and divided our country is perceived, we still have people in it of such high calibre with a desire to help others.
