WE all share the pain of Andy Selmes (letters June 15) and there just seems to be no end to the years of disruption to our town centre and surrounding area.

Much of it has been imposed upon us because we did not ask for the gyratory system or the huge housing expansions at Winnington, Hartford and elsewhere.

The houses in particular have been forced upon us through planning decisions and another in the Dane Valley is in the mix.

The houses; the long-awaited regeneration of our town centre following the decision by Prescott to fill in the salt mines and the necessity to replace lead utility pipes with plastic (Winnington and Burrows Hill) has combined to bring about a perfect storm of traffic chaos.

Believe it or not this chaos has been planned with a view to causing the least disruption as possible.

Millions have been invested and we are assured, come the autumn, that there will be some semblance of order and that our town centre will be finally be in a position to be re energised.

We are informed that the next process will be to collate and feed the then free flowing traffic data into the Northwich Transport Strategy with the objective of securing funding for a new/ improved river crossing at Winnington/Barnton.

We totally share and understand your frustration and hope that the end gain will be worth all the pain.
