SUE Smallwood says in last week’s Northwich Guardian (May 4) that more parking will be needed “especially on the Memorial Court car park which is always full”.

My husband and I are members at Brio and park there four or five times a week to visit either the pool or gym, and have done so for nearly a year.

While we sometimes need to park at the far end when it is very busy, we have never once failed to find a space, even when there have been events on in the Memorial Court theatre, when there are coaches too in the designated spaces.

Ms Smallwood needs to recall last week’s Northwich Guardian which reassured us that the new multistorey car park at Barons Quay will be able to accommodate 900 vehicles - and it is very likely that some of the current users of the Memorial Court car park are parking in it to go shopping.

This should not be necessary when the Barons Quay facility opens in the autumn, and parking in Northwich for shopping can become less scattered.

It is necessary to realise the re-development of the centre of Northwich is not yet complete.
